Houston County, Georgia is only 146 miles by highway or rail from Georgia’s Savannah port, the nation’s second busiest container exporter. Additionally, Houston County is less than a 1 hour drive to Georgia’s Inland Port at Cordele, which means products can be billed and loaded directly into rail cars that are then transferred promptly to an ocean vessel at Savannah, thus skirting truck congestion at the Savannah Port.
